Stuff and Things

Skinhead Hamlet

Here's the long-awaited graphic novel of the anonymous short play, which I produced with friends in the 3D Virtual Reality Environment Second Life.
The Skinhead Hamlet DIRECTOR'S CUT(PDF, 65MB)

Ceramics

Some of my teabowls and so on, made at Glen Echo Pottery, a year-round pottery school which specializes in Asian style high temperature stoneware firing. The studio also offers raku firing, soda firing, and wood firing. I've served on the board of directors for the Pottery, and also as webmaster for their first on-line site.

SCUBA

I trained to dive in the cold bleak waters of upstate New York and the St Lawrence Seaway. Since then, I've been diving in New Jersey (!), North Carolina, Florida, the kelp forests of Monterey Bay (yay!!!), Seatle, Florida, Oahu and Maui, Sweden, Japan (Izu, Shirahama, and Okinawa), Cayman, Cancun, Cozumel, and Belize, and most recently, the cenote underground cave lakes of Yucatan.

Custom Built PCs

I build custom high-performance PCs, with lots of glowy light-up things. The glowy things make the PC go faster.

Some of the custom PCs built for others include the Doctor No and The Monkey.

And, the home audio rig includes my own custom PC, the Red Alert.

Naturally, I used the real-life systems in the rig to build virtual copies of themselves.

Me and Sulla

Me, me, Sulla of D'ni, Sulla Milk of Second Life, and Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix Dictator.

Original Music

ping ping ping Huzzah!!! A pretty piece, the first one here to feature the Roland V Synth GT ... sing along!!!

pr0n loop 2 Just like the name says. Not my favorite, but, placed by popular demand anyway ...

Awww Yeah Rough mix of a nice techno loop, my debut playing percussion on a Roland SPD drum pad. The fabulous two-note bassline is played on the Triton LE.

Ani Thing Goes Synth over a pretty loop from an Ani DeFranco song.

In My Home Another pretty theme, using the Triton LE Patch "Home Suite Home". Merry xmas, Sid!.

Koko's Yacht of Smooth Rock Broken Dreams A retro synth piece by me and Edz, the first time we played together in over 15 years. Me on Triton LE "Sailing" patch, Edz on Roland TD-6V drums. The "Retro" knob is turned up to 11 for a filter-resonance finale, HUZZAH!!! Piece takes it name from the super fab short video series Yacht Rock.

The Midicordians Use Some Force A cheerful solo romp by Edz, with percussion driving a hammond organ patch as well as the drum kit.

Guitary Thingee A sloppy little musical sketch, perhaps to be refined some day.

Space Second Life's Astrin Few and Flaming Moe used internet broadcast delay to simulate "Frippertronics", a feedback loop method used by Robert Fripp. Fripp's version used two reel-to-reel tape players playing a single tape. This piece is my Fripp tribute/rip-off, using internet broadcast delay, a technique which I call lag-o-tronics.

Son of Jingle Balls Another lag-o-tronic piece.

Jingle Balls An early attempt at electronica crafted from samples and tools in MixMan.
